Ice
Oceans and the substance needed to live
~Ancient Elemental Poem on the Elements in Nature
Overview
Ice, also known as Aqua, or Water, is one of the nine elements which make up Spyro’s world. It is found in oceans and in most living beings, used by Dragons, fishes, Yeti, and other creatures. It is the second-most common element for a Dragon. An important bioindicator species is the Iceplant. The color used to represent Ice is blue, or else white. Peace and life are the qualities associated with this element. Ice is an element which exists almost everywhere, in various states, both fluid, and a steely, crystalline solid. Ice Dragons almost always start out breathing bubbles, and then liquid water, before they are able to harness solid Ice. The blood of Ice Dragons (usually of the color blue) functions as anti-freeze. Ice is at its apogee during the Season of Ice. The Dark form of Ice is called Dry Ice, for it can never quench the thirst of those whom it touches; another name for Dark Ice is Black Ice, because it blocks all incoming light. Ice's complementing opposite is Fire.
Interplay With the Other Elements
Water is the natural enemy of Fire, and Fire Skylanders must be extra cautious when dealing with the Water Element, or they may find their flames well and extinguished.
~Book of Elements: Fire and Water, page 40
The Life element is strongest against Water. The grass, flowers, and plants that are part of Life suck Water through their roots to give them strength, which is great for them, but not too handy for Water.
~Book of Elements - Fire and Water, page 76
All forms of Ice are strong against Fire, with the solid form of Ice also being strong against Alchemy. All Ice is weak against all forms of Electricity, while liquid Ice is also weak against Earth. All forms of Ice are on roughly equal terms against Shadow, Fear, and Wind, and solid Ice is on roughly equal terms against Earth.
