Overview
Earth, also known as Terra, or very rarely, Life*(see note below), is one of the nine elements which make up Spyro’s world. It is an element found in minerals, but also in plants, and used by Dragons and other creatures. The Earthstar plant is an important bioindicator species. The color used to represent Earth is green, or else brown. Patience and humbleness are the qualities associated with this element. Earth is a heavy element, working with gravity to bind worlds together. Plants and Spirit Gems alike grow out of the rich dirt Earth encompasses. Earth is at its apogee during the Season of Earth. The Dark form of Earth is sometimes called Rot, because it causes great decay both around and within its users; rarely, the word Death is used in-stead of Rot to refer to Dark Earth. *Earth is sometimes erroneously also called Life. See Alchemy for other uses of the term Life as an element.
Interplay With the Other Elements
Air is a natural predator of earth, as it would erode the very stone Earth Skylanders would embody.

The element of Earth is strong against Fire, Electricity, and liquid forms of Ice, but weak against all forms of Wind, Shadow, and Alchemy. It is on roughly equal terms against Fear, and all Life creations, as well as solid forms of Ice.
Terminology
Geokinesis—external manipulation of Earth.
Geogenesis—the creation of Earth from within; the ability to make Earth.
Geogenetic—referring to the ability to create Earth.
Terravomous—Earth-spewing; the quality of being able to throw out Earth.
